The aim of this concertserie is to introduce some interesting and significant opuses of British chamber music to the Russian audience. An important thing in Russian context seems to present both famous and almost unknown or neglected names. Therefore Elgar and Vaughan Williams are standing together with Bowen and Bax in the programmes. And, not least, the purpose of the serie is to give younger generation of musicians knowledge about fairly new repertoire for them.
The author as well as participant of the project is Mikhail Mishchenko, organist and musicologist, Associate Professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire

Young composers create pieces with electronic obligato. This project is aimed to explore perception of the frontier area between acoustic and electronic sound, both not existing here separately: the new performing techniques and use of various electronic sound objects create the integral and homogenous field of perception. Listener-s mind deprived of its usual checkpoints starts to stroll along electro-acoustic labyrinths carefully designed by the composers.

"Tax free" is series of performances involving young composers and performers. They get a space where one can experiment in various fields of the modern art. Different performing resources are used in every recital of the cycle: vocal, electro acoustics, percussions, various instrumental ensembles. The main zeal of this musical mini-marathon is to let the art of the young Russian composers into the cultural space of St Petersburg of 2010s, both those who are already known to the audience and those only starting their artistic careers.
The project is supported by:
